And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person [of any,] but teachest the way of God truly:
For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end [is] not by and by.

But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take [it,] and likewise [his] scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

I have come down
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.
But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am [he,] and [that] I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
When Jesus heard [that,] he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give [it] thee.

Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.

And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said [it,] that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.

This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and [that] they had done these things unto him.

Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also [my] hands and [my] head.
Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash [his] feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
