The name Maath occurs only once in the Bible. He was an ancestor of Christ according to the Lucan genealogy through Nathan, the son of David (Luke 3:26). Maath was the seventh generation after Zerubbabel, the leader of the great return from the Babylonian exile, and twelfth before Joseph, the father-by-law of Jesus.
