εκας

The adverb εκας (hekas) indicates distance between two points in space or time: afar, far from, or long after. It's not used in the New Testament but from it derive:

  • The adjective εκαστος (hekastos), meaning each or every one. This adjective emphases the space between elements and implies individuality. Since the noun Christ denotes personal autonomy and sovereignty, this adjective marks an essential principle of the kingdom of God. Contrarily, the kingdom of antichrist generalizes and burdens people with class-wide actions. This adjective occurs 83 times in the New Testament, see full concordance, and from it in turn derives:
    • The adverb of time εκαστοτε (hekastote), meaning each time, or always (2 Peter 1:15 only).
