The name Kishion belongs to a town in the territory of Issachar (Joshua 19:20), which was subsequently assigned to the Gershonite Levites (Joshua 21:28). In 1 Chronicles 6:72 this town is called Kedesh, and the Levite benefactors are called sons of Gershom (1 Chronicles 6:71).
