🔼The name Amos in the Bible
Amos is a minor prophet of Israel and a farmer; a herdsman and grower of sycamores (Amos 7:14). He lived and worked in the 8th century BC. There is also an Amos mentioned in the Lucan genealogy of Christ (Luke 3:25, spelled Αμως). We don't know anything about this Amos but judging from his place in the lineage he probably lived sometime during the 3rd century BC.
