רפד

The verb רפד (rapad), meaning to spread or support, is not a verb that's used very often. It occurs in Job 41:22, where a Leviathan spreads a mark on the mud, and Job 17:13 where the author spreads his bed in Sheol. In the Song of Solomon 2:5 the bride exclaims her wish to be "supported" (refreshed?) with apples.

This verb's sole derivative is the feminine noun רפידה (repida), which describes an element of Solomon's throne, apparently denoting some kind of rest or support structure (Song of Solomon 3:10).
