נום
The verb נום (num) means to sleep, slumber or be drowsy (2 Samuel 4:6, Isaiah 56:10, Nahum 3:18). It should be noted that in the Bible this verb is almost always used to indicate a negative state of either laziness or else inattentiveness or lack of vigilance. This verb's derivatives are:
- The feminine noun נומה (numa), meaning drowsiness (Proverbs 23:21) only.
- The feminine noun תנומה (tenuma), meaning slumber (Job 33:15, Psalm 132:4, Proverbs 6:4).
